Scam blogging is still hunting down wallets every week.
The vision impaired want to believe that perfect eyesight is just a pill or exercise away. The very thought of leaving behind the hassles of glasses or contact lenses is so appealing that they will risk their health and money chasing any hope that exists. The problem with this behavior is that not all herbal medicines marketed as cures for eyesight are actually that. The companies know that they are not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration. They can advertise on late night television or in magazines and all they have to do is put in very fine print, scrolling quickly on the bottom of the screen, that results may vary.
Not to mention the fact that so many fake blogs are flooding the internet on a regular basis.
Ophthalmologist might not agree with the late night herbal supplements and exercises touted on television and books. The FDA does not recommend it nor do they regulate it. It is left up to the consumer to decide what works for them and what does not. Not every eye is the same nor will all treatments work on everyone. The companies do not take into consideration family history, medical history or current condition of the eye. Each company even differs on what ingredients go into making that “cure all vision supplements” because there is not a proven vitamin or mineral that gives twenty/twenty vision. Carrots are not the miracle worker once thought to be. Bilberry has not been proven without doubt in any laboratory studies. Even the eye exercises sold are not guaranteed in any way.
The best source for information regarding eye exercises or herbal supplements is your family eye care specialist. He or she can help you make a determination based on the uniqueness of personal care history. The doctor can tell whether or not an herbal supplement or eye sit ups can really result in no more glasses or contacts. One thing that can be guaranteed is that without regular visits to an eye care professional, your eyesight can be endangered. Maybe a pill a day might one day keep the eye doctor away but for now go ahead and make that appointment.
